A temporary four-foot minimum high plastic orange fence is installed around the tree to be saved at a fifteen-foot minimum radius from the trunk. The fence is supported by t-posts driven into the ground while avoiding major roots. Construction notes dictate that any roots over one inch in diameter exposed and damaged during construction must receive a clean straight cut and be covered with damp burlap and soil. Work inside the fencing must be done manually without material stockpiling or vehicular traffic.
