A joint bond cable or test station cable connects to a ductile iron pipe or fitting using an exothermic weld and copper sleeve. A temporary dam made of plumber's putty retains the liquid coating during application. The entire connection is encapsulated with an epoxy coating compound to cover all exposed steel and copper a minimum of one-quarter inch.
