A cast-in-place concrete curb features a 3:12 batter curb face and a 1-inch radius top edge. The curb includes a 6-inch top width, a 6-inch vertical exposure above the landscape or hardscape finish surface, and an 8-inch minimum depth extending down to a compacted subgrade. Asphalt pavement is placed adjacent to the backside of the curb with a tack coat applied at the joint, bearing on a compacted base course that matches the adjacent road section depth with a minimum thickness of 4 inches. Control joints consisting of 1-inch deep scores are placed at 10-foot intervals on center and must align with joints in any adjacent walk.
