A cast-in-place concrete curb abuts a shallow drainage swale graded at a three-to-one slope on both sides. The swale measures one foot wide from the curb face to the invert and one foot wide from the invert to the opposing bank, maintaining a three-inch minimum depth. The invert of the grading swale must be flush with the adjacent area drain grate. Compacted subgrade supports the sloped earth profile.
