A precast trench drain accommodates a grate for H20 load compliance and features a side outlet for downspout connection. The trench drain is set within a concrete band flanked by a three-eighths inch expansion joint, adjacent asphalt concrete paving, and adjacent concrete paving tied with number four dowels spaced at twelve inches on center. The assembly rests on a concrete base with reinforcing rebar, underlain by a minimum of four inches of base aggregate compacted to ninety-five percent dry density minimum. The entire system bears on undisturbed subgrade or compacted structural fill compacted to ninety-five percent dry density minimum.
