Runoff with sediment enters a subterranean 55-gallon drum featuring two-inch diameter weep holes, wrapped in filter fabric secured with wire ties, and backfilled with a minimum of six inches of clean crushed base course. The top of the drum extends a minimum of six inches above grade and is provided with a solid cover. A submersible pump sits at the bottom of the drum, discharging filtered runoff away from the excavation.
