A rock check dam consists of nine to twelve inch D50 rock riprap placed over a nonwoven geotextile foundation. The upstream face incorporates two to three inches of number 57 stone for filtration. The dam features a three inch minimum top width and side slopes of two horizontal to one vertical. Overall height and length dimensions are determined per the rock check dam construction table.
