A concrete curb measuring eighteen inches in total height by six inches in width acts as a transition between an asphalt pavement section and a concrete sidewalk. The assembly is reinforced with two number four reinforcing bars positioned longitudinally within the concrete section. Road base material supports both the asphalt paving and the concrete elements. A one-half-inch radius is formed at the upper corner of the concrete curb, and an expansion joint is provided between the curb and the adjacent concrete sidewalk.
