A standard heavy-duty asphalt pavement cross section for parking areas. The top wearing surface consists of two and a half inches of asphalt concrete. Beneath the asphalt lies a seven-inch aggregate base course providing structural support and drainage. The entire assembly bears upon a properly prepared subgrade comprising suitable natural subgrade soils, structural fills, or structural grading.
