This heavy duty concrete pavement section consists of a 6.5-inch Portland cement concrete wearing course reinforced with number 4 rebar at 18 inches on center each way. The concrete slab rests on a 4-inch aggregate base course, which is supported by a 10-inch granular subbase layer. The entire pavement assembly bears on a properly prepared and suitable natural subgrade of structural grading soils.
