This interior partition detail shows porcelain tile adhered over a five-eighths inch thick tile backer board meeting an upper wall finished with five-eighths inch gypsum board. A sealant joint filled with caulk occurs at the horizontal transition between the tile and the gypsum board. The tile finish features a one inch minimum overlap dimension specified alongside the transition. The assembly is supported by framing studs spaced within the interior partition.
