A metal gate connects to a CMU block wall with brick veneer via a gate hinge secured by expansion anchors. The wall assembly incorporates a one-inch air space between the concrete masonry unit and the brick veneer, sealed at the joint with a backer rod and sealant. The hinge bracket dimensions include a six-inch offset and two-and-a-half-inch spacing. The metal gate referenced on drawing B5/U-601 swings from this anchored hinge connection.
