A cast-in-place concrete curb and gutter bears on a four-inch minimum Class II aggregate base over a prepared subgrade. The gutter section abuts asphalt concrete pavement structured per pavement sections. Expansion joints measuring one-half inch wide are placed at each end of the curb return and at twenty-foot centers, utilizing one-half-inch diameter by twelve-inch smooth capped dowels. Score marks are set one and one-half to two inches deep at twenty-foot centers, alternating with expansion joints at ten feet on center. The concrete surface finish consists of a light brooming, and all subgrade preparation conforms to the geotechnical report.
