Standard end connection configurations include stiffener and continuity plates at structural steel beams or columns. Continuity plates require a minimum thickness equal to the beam flange thickness plus one-eighth inch, welded with a fillet weld sized at five-eighths of the continuity plate thickness along three sides. Weld placement must maintain a one-and-a-half-inch minimum fillet weld holdback and be kept away from column k-areas. Bolt holes in connection lugs are standard holes.
