An eight-inch cast-in-place cement concrete slab bears directly on a four-inch crushed surfacing base course. The base course rests on undisturbed or recompacted subgrade. Adjacent to the below-grade structure, rigid insulation of varying thickness bears on the subgrade and transitions beneath the concrete slab.
