A structural steel braced frame gusset plate connects to a vertical column and a horizontal base plate. The gusset plate is welded to the base plate at a ninety-degree angle and features a bolted connection for the incoming brace member. A complete joint penetration doubler plate reinforces the base plate assembly. Additional welds and dimensional references coordinate the connection geometry relative to the work point at the top of the base plate.
