This assembly consists of a custom fiberglass trench drain channel, or approved equal, set within a concrete band adjacent to a structural wall. A one-half inch expansion joint is provided along the interface between the concrete band and the structural wall. The trench is topped with a ductile iron grate, with the frame secured by anchors spaced at eighteen inches on center, typically placed midway between vertical reinforcing bars. The concrete band maintains a minimum depth of six inches, while the adjacent concrete pavement depth varies. The frame crossbar provides structural support for the grate within the trench channel.
