A bolted end connection for a steel core assembly is housed within a casing. A lug plate connects to the steel core, transitioning to a gusset plate secured with multiple bolts spaced across typical gauge and pitch dimensions. Casing caps are provided at each end, and welded connections join the lug plate and gusset plate elements.
