This assembly consists of a perforated drain pipe positioned at the base of a concrete footing, encased in gravel backfill for drains and wrapped in Mirafi 140N or approved equal filter fabric. The gravel backfill for walls extends vertically to the bottom of the pavement section or within 12 inches of the landscape finished grade. The footing is sized per structural requirements, with a 6-inch clearance maintained between the pipe and the footing base. The pipe is installed with perforations facing down and must not encroach within the foundation bearing line. Adjacent to the footing, the slab-on-grade is constructed over a vapor barrier and a 4-inch capillary break layer.
