Portland cement concrete pavement rests on a compacted base course and compacted subgrade with a specified aggregate base layer. Expansion joints feature preformed joint filler and bituminous joint sealant with sawcut edges at a defined width and depth. Contraction joints include a first and second sawcut with bond breaker tape and bituminous joint sealant. Construction joints incorporate asphalt emulsion between adjacent concrete pavement placements. The pavement thickness and base course depths are detailed per plan.
