A prepackaged zinc anode is connected to a ferrous metal elbow on a nonmetallic pipe system via a number 10 American Wire Gauge thermoplastic high heat-resistant nylon-coated black anode cable, maintained at a distance of five feet from the pipe. The ferrous metal elbow and pipe joints are wrapped in an eight-mil polyethylene encasement typically installed per project specifications. A cable-to-pipe connection is detailed on sheet CP-8, and the zinc anode installation is further detailed on sheet CP-7.
