A brass ground clamp connects a number 10 AWG black THHN copper anode cable to a copper or brass riser located six inches minimum above grade. The cable extends downward to a prepackaged magnesium anode installed five feet minimum below grade and one foot minimum offset from the underground PVC pipe. The underground PVC pipe is wrapped in a six-mil polyethylene sleeve. A backflow prevention device is installed on the overhead piping assembly leading to the building.
