This structural connection details the top intersection of a chevron bracing system with a steel beam. Diagonal braces are bolted to a gusset plate that hangs below the beam, with the work point located at half the actual beam depth. A vertical gusset stiffener, one-half inch thick, is welded to both sides of the gusset plate using welds sized per drawing notes on two sides typical. An additional top detail shows alignment along the beam axis. The bracing members frame into the gusset at a ninety-degree included angle.
