A square galvanized steel fence post is welded to a three-quarter-inch thick by eight-inch square base plate with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld, featuring a one-three-eighths-inch hole and a three-quarter-inch vent. The base plate rests on a one-inch-plus-or-minus mortar pad over the top of a concrete platform edge curb. Two three-quarter-inch diameter U-bolts with three-inch thread, hex nuts, and two-inch outer-diameter flat washers secure the post. The concrete curb is reinforced with four total number-four bars spanning ten inches and two number-six bars spanning ten inches. Two-half-inch diameter threaded rods are set in drilled holes with epoxy grout and tied with tack-welded bottom bars.
