A hollow structural section or channel stringer connects to a wide-flange beam sized per plan adjacent to a concrete on metal deck assembly. A quarter-inch closure plate spans the vertical edge of the deck with a six-inch offset from the centerline of the wide-flange beam. The connection utilizes a complete joint penetration weld at the top interface with four-inch dimensional clearances shown.
