A buckling-restrained brace connection occurs at the bottom of a frame, intersecting a steel column and beam. A gusset plate connects the diagonal brace to the column and beam flanges, secured with structural bolts. The working point is located at the center of the column and half of the actual beam depth. Welds attach the gusset plate to the column and beam per structural design specifications, guided by AISC and AWS standards.
