Sawed control joint detail in a slab-on-grade featuring a 1 1/2 inch deep saw cut with a 1/8 inch minimum width. An induced crack propagates vertically from the bottom of the saw cut through the unreinforced section of the concrete slab. Maximum spacing between joints is 15 feet on center. Notes specify that joints shall be sawed within 4 to 12 hours after placement and top layer reinforcement must not be cut where applicable.
