Two aligned steel studs join end-to-end with an internal piece of track twenty-four inches long spanning the joint. Six number six gauge screws fasten each flange on each side of the splice minimum. The internal track segment extends twelve inches minimum into each stud section. A cross-sectional view details the fastener placement through the stud and track flanges.
