This assembly details a two-hour fire-rated partition compliant with Underwriters Laboratories designs U497 and U438. The framing consists of a metal runner track at the base with a minimum 1/4 inch joint sealant at the perimeter. One layer of 1 inch gypsum shaftliner board is installed on one side, paired with an acoustic blanket insulation placed within the stud cavity where required. Two layers of 5/8 inch Type X gypsum board finish the opposite side of the partition.
