A metallic pipe or conduit up to four inches in diameter penetrates a partition per plan with an annular space ranging from one-quarter inch minimum to one and one-quarter inches maximum. Two and one-half inch thick minimum mineral wool insulation forming material is firmly packed into the opening. A one-inch thick minimum layer of sealant is applied within the opening, flush with the surface of the wall at both sides. The assembly complies with UL listing W-L-1064.
