A painted hollow metal frame with a two-inch depth is installed in a scheduled wall assembly. The jamb is secured using frame anchors per manufacturer specifications, with sealant applied at both sides of the frame. The wall framing consists of two 18-gauge studs tabbed together typically at all jambs, finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board on each side or tile backer board where tile occurs. Sound attenuation blankets are installed within the wall cavity where scheduled, and scheduled thinset tile is applied over the backer board as specified.
