A structural steel connection joins diagonal framing members to a main girder using three-eighths-inch thick gusset plates welded in place. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths-inch size secure the gusset plates to the members per plan requirements, maintaining minimum clearances of three, five, and six inches as indicated. The intersecting axes align at a central work point along the girder span.
