A cable tray carrying electrical cables penetrates through a one or two-hour rated gypsum board wall assembly framed with metal studs. The opening around the cable tray is tightly packed with mineral wool insulation. Firestop sealant is applied at the cable tray and gypsum board interface on both sides of the wall in accordance with UL system requirements.
