The head of the partition wall connects to a rated concrete and metal deck floor slab using minimum two-inch wide sixteen-gauge galvanized steel straps spaced at sixteen or twenty-four inches on center to match the stud spacing. The top track is secured with minimum one-eighth-inch powder-actuated fasteners having a minimum one-and-one-quarter-inch embedment. Web stiffeners are added as required to meet limiting height requirements, alongside metal U-channel lateral bracing and metal clip angles typical throughout the height of the partition. Additional layers of gypsum wallboard and sound attenuation fire blanket are included per the specific partition type shown on the plans.
