This plan detail shows offset electrical junction boxes installed within a multi-layer acoustic partition. The assembly consists of non-structural metal framing stud walls faced with gypsum board on both sides, enclosing acoustic blanket insulation in the cavity. Electrical junction boxes are inset into the gypsum board on opposite sides of the partition and offset by a minimum of one stud space to maintain acoustic performance. Acoustical joint sealant is applied around the perimeter of the box penetrations.
