This assembly details a one-hour fire-rated steel beam integrated into a partition wall constructed with one and five-eighths inch metal studs. The beam is fireproofed in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories design D929 or similar. Nominal four pounds per cubic foot mineral fiber board is installed between the deck flutes and along the face of the beam. Fire sealant is applied at the interface between the beam and the adjacent wall assembly to maintain the fire rating.
