A galvanized and painted steel tube rises through the roof membrane flashing with a minimum eight-inch clearance above the roof surface. A one-quarter-inch galvanized and painted steel closure plate is welded around the perimeter at both ends. A galvanized watertight umbrella cap fits over the assembly and is secured with a stainless steel hose clamp. Joint sealant is applied to clean surfaces around the column penetration from the building below.
