A structural slab on a steel deck bears on a steel beam adjacent to a Portland cement plaster wall assembly. Smoke seal and fire safing fill the perimeter gap between the slab edge and the framing. The exterior wall incorporates a two-piece expansion joint fastened to the metal stud channel. Self-adhered membrane flashing and building paper over drainage composite run down the exterior sheathing. Self-adhered flashing is applied over an inverted flashing strip at the sheathing joint above the expansion joint.
