Galvanized steel vertical support posts are spaced at a maximum of five feet on center and support a 1-1/2 inch diameter pipe guardrail. The posts attach to a galvanized steel structural channel at the top of the platform using a bolted connection. A galvanized steel open grate platform rests adjacent to the structural channel. Code notes indicate the installation complies with IBC requirements for guards in S occupancies.
