A horizontal thin-blade storm-proof louver with an extruded aluminum frame is installed adjacent to a cast-in-place concrete and two-foot-wide concrete masonry unit wall. The perimeter joint between the louver frame and the concrete substrate is sealed with backer rod and elastomeric sealant. An insect screen is integrated into the interior side of the louver assembly.
