A cold-formed steel ceiling joist frames into a rated wall partition, secured with a continuous metal track anchored by two number ten sheet metal screws at each stud. Top and bottom sheet metal screws fasten the horizontal stud to the track flange typically. Five-eighths-inch gypsum board finishes the ceiling assembly as an element not part of the rated assembly. Partition types and reflected ceiling plans coordinate the surrounding layout.
