Light gauge steel framing supports a single layer of 5/8 inch gypsum board. Studs are sized per span requirements and positioned to maintain a maximum 1 inch gap between the finished soffit face and the top of the metal detector unit. The gypsum board surface aligns with the top edge of the metal detector for a clean transition.
