A metal sleeve sizing three-eighths inch larger than the outside diameter of the pipe penetrates the non-fire-rated full-height acoustic partition, leaving a three-eighths-inch gap around the full perimeter. One inch of safing and batt insulation packs the annular space between the sleeve and partition. Acoustic sealant hermetically seals the perimeter airtight on both sides. Independent pipe supports on both sides carry the load, keeping the pipe isolated from the partition structure.
