A concrete upturn beam features a 2.87 percent slope with 3/4-inch chamfered edges and Tex-Cote applied to the front, top, and inside faces. The beam is supported by a post-tensioned slab with a joint at the spandrel that is patched and filled flush with adjacent concrete. Hollow structural section outriggers measuring 3x3 inches tie back into the concrete upturn beam. A cable barrier post supports a cable railing assembly above a pressure-treated wood deck with a continuous concrete swale. A perforated metal panel with a Kynar finish attaches to an aluminum horizontal and vertical framing system anchored to the assembly.
