A window sill transition over a backup wall assembly features GRC cladding mounted on vertical metal Z-girts and Cascadia clips with two inches of mineral fiber insulation. The window unit is set into a continuous silicone sealant over a membrane upturn, which ties into the continuous perimeter seal. A 1.5 by 1.25-inch aluminum back angle supports the window assembly above a prefinished sheet metal flashing with a hemmed drip edge, secured to the window manufacturer snap-in trim. A prefinished sheet metal cleat is installed over the vertical metal Z-girt, and liquid applied flashing serves as a window prestrip over the water-resistive barrier membrane. A silicone sealant heel bead is applied at the full perimeter of the interior glazed insulated glass unit.
