An exterior threshold transition joins a concrete paver assembly on a sand setting bed to scheduled stone set in grout over a concrete slab on grade. A six-inch threshold, with its profile selected by the architect, is provided by the door manufacturer. A caulking compression joint seals the junction between the threshold and the adjacent concrete paver surface. Both the scheduled stone and concrete pavers are bedded in sand layers supported by the underlying concrete slab on grade and concrete plank construction.
