A three-inch diameter standard pipe column bears on a ten-inch by ten-inch by one-half-inch steel base plate secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts. The base plate rests on a one-and-one-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout above a concrete pier and footing. The footing measures three feet square by twelve inches deep with three number four rebars each way and three inches of clearance. The lower portion of the steel post is encased in concrete.
