A wide-flange steel column is welded to a rectangular steel base plate with dimensions "B", "N", and thickness "T" as specified in the column schedule. Fillet welds connect the column flanges to the base plate according to American Institute of Steel Construction standards. Four anchor bolts are positioned at the corners with a one-and-a-half-inch edge distance. A two-inch diameter grout hole is provided through the base plate.
