The one-and-a-half-inch diameter metal rail and post assembly is secured to the wall with a bracket that connects to a three-inch diameter by one-quarter-inch thick steel plate. This plate is mounted over a backing plate concealed within the wall assembly as scheduled. A one-half-inch diameter rod provides structural support for the bracket. All metal rail and post joints are to be welded and ground smooth. The assembly maintains a minimum clearance of one-and-a-half inches between the rail and the wall surface.
