Two distinct cold-formed steel framing splices provide continuous load transfer for tracks and studs. The steel track splice connects top or bottom tracks using a minimum twenty-four-inch-long piece of stud lapped across the joint with a minimum twelve-inch extension on each side. The steel stud splice joins steel studs using a twenty-four-inch-long piece of track nested over the joint with a minimum twelve-inch extension on each side. Both connections are fastened with a minimum of six number six gauge screws on each flange on each side of the splice.
